       The Maurice King Foundation of American Music is a non-profit cultural, educational institution. It is designed to foster a greater understanding

    and appreciation for the growth and development of all American music in the Maurice King tradition.

         Through performances and seminars (lectures/classes), which will feature multi-media applications, the Foundation will encourage and support

    young artists as well as scholars, in their efforts to promote the further creation of new forms of American music.

         The Maurice King Foundation of American Music will locate, collect, and retain artifacts

    which are part of the major constructs in the development of American music.

    It will also, through all activities, solidify the roots of American music and

    introduce through public display the legacies of the many greats who gave

    America our marvelously unique form of music.
